About Grace

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes

Grace is a beautiful girl who was deserted by her former family. They got her as a puppy then gave her away to someone they knew. The new owner didn't treat her very well, and just made her a yard dog. Grace ran away from them and found her way back home to the original owner. Sadly, that person would not take her back in and just left her wandering the streets to fend for herself. The people in the neighborhood say she has been there for about 4 years now, surviving on trash and what few scraps people put out for her. She had many litters of puppies during that time. We came to know about her when working on a hoarding case in that same neighborhood. We saw Grace going into an abandoned house and it was obvious that she was nursing puppies. We asked around about her and that's the story we got. So we went in and took her and her 7 puppies. All of her puppies have been adopted and now it is Grace's turn to find a home of her own. Grace loves to cuddle. She gets along very well with other dogs - males, females, young, old, small or large. She likes to play with other dogs and will play until she wears herself out. But at the same time, she is not a particularly high energy, hyper dog. When it's time to relax, she is all about crawling into bed and snuggling up to her person. She is almost completely house trained, but may need an adjustment period in her new home, and some reminders to go potty when she is outside. Grace is going thru heartworm treatment currently and will be available for adoption in a few weeks. She will make a wonderful companion for any family situation.
